It should be second nature to maintain current technical knowledge that supports the rapidly changing technology, always being on thelookout for new technologies and working with the rest of the development team to adopt the new technologies that make sense. This position will require the ability to adapt to new development environments and changing business requirements.

Having a working knowledge of user-interface design of web applications is helpful, but more importantly the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients. Developing a clear understanding of project requirements and architecture is critical. Reliability, a professional attitude, and a willingness to do what is required in a collaborative work setting will be priceless.

Position Skills and Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years development experience and 2+years team lead/management experience is ideal
  
• Education: Bachelors degree or higher - preferably in computer science
  
• Proven development experience with PHP and an understanding of object oriented programming is required
• Strong knowledge of using PHP and MySQL to architect and develop custom content management applications
  
• Experience building web applications using LAMP
  
• Basic Linux and Windows server administration skills
• Ability to do front end web development when needed; Photoshop, HTML, and CSS
  
• Experience using source code versioning systems like Subversion or Git
• Experience with other web technologies such as Javascript, JSON, REST, PHP, RoR, .NET, or Django, various open source frameworks, iOS, Android and/or Facebook development experience is a strong plus
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithm, enterprise systems, and asynchronous architectures
• Experience in consumer facing web development
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and mentor a technical team
• Natural desire to challenge the status quo and the ability to convince others when change is optimal
• Strong strategic vision, presentation and technology leadership skills
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
