Do you feel like a kid in a candy store when you hear phrases like “multivariate testing” and  “progressive enhancement”? Regard semantic, standards-compliant HTML & CSS as a way of life? Are you a perfectionist whose curiosity drives you to investigate and apply new and different solutions to design challenges' As a web designer at Spiceworks you’ll do those things and more as you bring the Spiceworks brand to life. Plus, you'll help craft marketing promotions for powerhouse brands who advertise in Spiceworks like Microsoft, Intel and Rackspace.

We need a highly motivated creative thinker and designer who can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Who doesn't just simply create "pretty designs" but who thinks through objectives and decisions to produce creative solutions. A quick study who’s willing to learn whatever it is they don't yet know. 

Responsibilities:

•    Translate objectives into effective design – including web pages, microsites, HTML emails, promotional print materials, interactive ads, and more

•    Write front-end code with HTML, CSS and Javascript (JQuery)

•    Maintain and update the corporate website

•    Concept, design and implement A/B and multivariate tests

•    Interface with internal clients from all departments in the company

•    Project manage multiple projects simultaneously

•    Manage vendors and see production of materials thru to delivery

Qualifications:

•    Inspired design skills (and a killer portfolio that showcases them)

•    Ability to hand-code valid, semantic markup (HTML and CSS)

•    Belief that "WYSIWYG editor" is a dirty word

•    Excellent proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (including Flash) and other industry software packages

•    An understanding of Progressive Enhancement

•    A strong work ethic (9-5 is just a Dolly Parton song to you)

•    Out-of-this-world project management skills

•    Agility. You can think on your feet and adapt well to a quickly changing environment

•    Killer communication skills across a wide spectrum of personalities

Bonus Qualifications:

Do you bring something to the table above and beyond the bare minimum requirements above? Having the following in your bag-of-tricks will put you a head above the rest:

•    Experience building and testing HTML emails

•    Exposure to email apps such as Litmus and a major ESP (Exact Target a plus!)

•    A/B and multivariate testing know-how

•    PHP or Javascript (particularly JQuery) prowess

•    Experience creating infographics or other data visualizations

•    Versed in video or motion graphics

•    Command of copywriting basics
