Lead UI Designer, Capital One Digital Innovation Lab

At Capital One’s Digital Innovation Lab, you will have the rare opportunity to develop consumer experiences and interfaces across a variety of social web, mobile, and emerging digital payment concepts. You will be part of a highly dynamic and multi-disciplinary team to validate hypotheses and new product concepts. You will work with Product and Engineering teams to create beautiful interfaces that facilitate what users want to do, and delight them along the way. You will conceptualize and design original ideas that bring simplicity and ease of use to complex design issues of how millions of people interact with their money.

Responsibilities

• Develop the consumer experience manifesto for the Digital Lab
• Translate requirements into concepts and elegant user experience design
• Drive visual direction and strategy for prototyping and pilot efforts.
• Create interaction models, user task flows, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimize the user experience
• Develop and maintain design wireframes, mockups, and specifications
• Visualize complex sets of data in ways that are easy to comprehend
• Perform guerilla market research and coordinate in house usability studies

Basic Requirements

• 5 years designing consumer and/or commercial web and mobile application interfaces
• 3 years design experience in Photoshop, OmniGraffle/Balsamic, and Illustrator

 Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record and a passion for designing compelling, user experiences
• Ability to prototype your work in HTML/CSS/JS
• Solid intuition of best practices and tools used in user-centered interaction design
• Strong visual design skills, including an eye for good typography, composition, and use of color
• Experience in creating various prototype methods and knowledge of best practicesExperience with/understanding of MVC architecture,Mobileapp design using Xcode, and building applications using API a plus
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and communicate progress and expected milestones
