Touro College is looking for a Tech Lead/Senior Web Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong back-end development experience with LAMP technologies and be responsible for the designand implementation of website projects for Touro College. The Tech Lead will be coming on board as we begin a major web redesign project for Touro College that will include implementing a WCMS. The Tech Lead will be tasked with helping in the WCMS selection process, spearheading the implementation of chosen WCMS (as liaison if commercial product is chosen), continuing to develop and build the WCMS as new functionality is needed and to provide recommendations to build the technology arm of the web department as needed. The Tech Lead will oversee other software decisions, such as DAM selection and setup and ecommerce software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and delivery of website projects
• Help assess Touro’s CMS needs, set up demos of best CMS options; oversee implementation of chosen CMS
• Upgrade, maintain, further develop the site, post-launch
• Select and implement third party software as necessary with the site and CMS (DAM, payment/ecommerce software, forms, feedback system, etc)
• Build the development and technology capabilities of the Touro web department. Provide technical leadership and motivation to your team
• Collaborate with delivery teams in all aspects of the project life-cycle including requirements
•  Continued SEO work/recommendations on site
• Follow internal standards, system integration and security practices, while documenting changes and enhancements
• Interest and ability to learn and adopt new technologies, with particular attention to industry standards, coding frameworks, styles and methods, in addition to other innovations
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues

Required Skills

• 4+ years of progressive experience with PHP development with recent role of technical lead. (Eat, sleep, breath PHP)
• Mastery of common web technologies
• Experience with database design and development in MySQL
• Familiarity with a wide range of CMS solutions
• Experience with APIs and system integration with web services
• Ability to translate business requirements to technical specifications
• Sound documentation and quality assurance / testing skills
• Experience with SEO / SEM
• Experience with Google Analytics
• Excellent management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
• Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds
• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related experience
