YouGov: Senior front-end developer
(New York) We're doing some pretty ambitious things here at Opigram - the opinion exchange being developed at global market researchers, YouGov PLC - and all of them require beautiful, smooth user interfaces.
We are looking for a front-end developer who is knowledgeable, passionate and creative to join our transatlantic team. Working out of lower Manhattan (Union Square area) the successful candidate will work closely with the NY based lead designer and CEO, as well as the UK-based back-end dev team, to create the front end.

About the position
The core responsibilities will be implementing designs and developing new front end features using advanced, industry standard techniques and technologies.
The ideal candidate will have a great attention to detail and will pride themselves on clean, simple, resuable and testable code delivering a great user experience.
*We will be building websites in both PHP and Scala (Play) as well as mobile applications so an interest in learning new skills is important*
Mandatory
- Fantastic Javascript knowledge including advanced JQuery- Excellent knowledge of modern CSS- Proven track record of delivering accessible and clean code- Good OO PHP knowledge with MVC (MVP)- Dependable, easy going and keen to get things done- Experience with unit and functional testing- Comfortable in Agile environment with evolving requirements, multiple projects on the go and working to deadlines with minimal supervision
Nice to Haves!
- Any familiarity with Scala or the Play framework a bonus (not required)- Good knowledge of Linux- Experience with Cassandra
