The CITI Program at the University of Miami is a custom-built eLearning web application in ColdFusion with a MSSQL backend. We're looking for a ColdFusion programmer that will enjoy understanding, expanding, and improving our complex application. The CITI Program at the University of Miami provides ethics and privacy training for over 600,000 users each year at more than 1,500 member institutions around the world. Our current classic ASP site is being rewritten in ColdFusion, and we have many new features we want to add - which is why we're looking for you! About You: You really enjoy working on long term projects which require careful planning and deep insight into the inner workings of the system. When we discuss changes or new features, you distill what is being asked for, how it can be implemented, and what the benefits and drawbacks are. You work well as part of our programming team, following the code standards and producing clear documentation explaining your additions to the application. The primary responsibilities of the position are: - Writing ColdFusion web pages and the MSSQL stored procedures that will power those pages. - Meeting with program administrators to design new features. - Collaborating with system administrators on database design. - Continually working to increase the functionality, security and performance of our website.
The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelor's Degree and one year of experience in writing database-driven ColdFusion applications. Required skills: - Cold Fusion 9 - MS SQL stored procedures - HTML & CSS – Excellent communications skills both verbal and written are required. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certifications and/or work experience will be considered.
