| | Really pricey, even compared to most others....: Rating: 2/5 |
Pros: Relatively large by today's standards.
Cons: Really expensive.
My Z710 printer put out acceptable prints cheaper than the better prints from the camera-co. printer I own, given the latter's dinky ink tanks. Nevertheless, these Lexmark cartridges are way overpriced--even considering other cartridges today--even including Lexmark's newer models. Over time, printer mfrs. have tended to make cartridges smaller, to the point of being really unreasonable. I look around in vain, attempting to find OEM cartridges (which in this case are better) that are more reasonably priced than ~$40--of course that never happens. (As is painfully familiar to others, I'm certain, this color cartridge costs more than the printer did).
(Despite what printer purists say, cheapo printers like the Z710 generally aren't that bad: Cartridges are going to cost you bigtime, anyway, with the expensive printers purists insist that you buy. I've found that ink tank-based printers produce better prints for photos, yet, their separate print heads will wear out and are likely to be so expensive (or hard to find) that you'll find yourself purchasing new again. Ink tanks actually aren't true cartridges as the Lexmark #20 is--the print head function is included on such a true cartridge, making cartridges more costly.)
My admittedly simplistic answer for printing unimportant docs--try to move beyond inkjet to laser and/or check print-to-file whenever possible (not to mention using "draft" setting to save ink)--display photos on a TV or monitor. I desire to avoid paying for this racket from this all-to-typical oligopoly. Unfortunately, inkjet is better than laser for photos, so, I would desire to keep at least one around.... |
| | Lexmark brand works the best: Rating: 4/5 |
| I will only buy the Lexmark brand cartridge for my printer. The no-name refills do not work. Got this one at a great price on Amazon. |
| | Junk: Rating: 1/5 |
| Even through it was stated this product would work with my printer, it did clog right away. I am going to stay with OEM ink from now on. |
| | great follow up service: Rating: 4/5 |
| there was a problem with the cartridge, the company immediately corrected the situation with no cost to me |
