I love the Sims: Rating: 5/5
I'm a simhead so there really isn't much I can say against it. It's fun. It's a cool addition.

A catch: Rating: 1/5
I did not know that I needed the regular Sims 2 to get this expansion pack. The regular Sims 2 isn't even compatiable with my Windows Program. I have Vista, the regular Sims 2 only goes up to XP.

Overall, a Very Good Buy: Rating: 5/5
I don't know about the others who are saying they are facing problems with their computers with the SecuRom, but I have had this product downloaded and playable for two weeks. Frankly, it works just fine, and I'll start now with reviewing the actual product.

There is a new dimension that a player receives with each purchase of the Sims 2 expansion packs. As for gaming, it offers new hairstyles (technically only 4, but it has many different designs/ colors of barrettes for each style), furniture, service people, and magic! There's actually a lot more, but I don't feel like writing a novel.

Only having the product for a few short weeks and because school is up and running, I haven't had much time to really experience the entire game, but from what I have experienced, I am very satisfied. I'm not a complete Sims 2 fanatic- just someone who enjoys the game for what it is; a game.

However, when you move into an apartment, you can only manage to alter so many things to the apartment building. You cannot upgrade interior doors, change the fire place or the staircase. There is a cheat to alter this, but I'm a bit weary with always pulling up the cheat bar. Also, when you live in a normal home, you can't experience having a roommate, which isn't entirely realistic, but oh well, I guess you can't have everything you want.

Anyways, as long as you aren't downloading strange and illegal things, I believe you should be safe from the SecuRom.

Farewell!

Love the game - hate the security.: Rating: 2/5
I love the Apartment Life expansion. I know because I have been playing it for a year now. But I won't be playing it anymore because the copy I bought from EA Games via the Software Download service no longer works. Why? Because "For security reasons, only a limited number of machines can ever be licensed by a single purchase. This limit has been reached. Please purchase another registration code, reinstall, and then try again."

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME FROM THE EA DOWNLOAD SERVICE.

The Last Hurrah of Sims 2. Now give us our patches!: Rating: 4/5
THE GOOD:

Let me start out with my favorite features. Good and Evil Witches. Great!. Thrones of Pure Good and Evil, and new furnishing to make your Lair of Darkness or Temple of Light complete. AWESOME. Turn enemies into zombi slaves...without mods!

THE BAD:

Older features of the game get jacked. Cellphones dissappear, There are issues with some services.

With some new features, it takes FOREVER to makes stuff as witches, and it drains your Sims completely. If you are a cheater, you'll find yourself using cheats to replinish your sims when ever they are brewing up spells for a good few days of their lives.

Also there is no extended colorful "magic world" like in Sims 1. There are no magical duels (sux), And the green skin wicked witch of the west thing stops being hilarous quick.

The UGLY: Thanks to Sims 3. We can expect a total of 0 patches to fix some of the many other bugs not mentioned.

As for apartments....meh. Neat new feature, but could have been used MUCH earlier. But by this point my guys all come from multi-zillionare fortunes and live in mansions.

All in all, one of the best addtions to the Sims 2. Would be better if there were patches to fix the bugs.
