If it were for the Storm2, would have been great!: Rating: 5/5
The title says it all. I searched Storm 2 desktop charger and got this. I didn't bother to check and make sure there weren't two different ones for each Storm. My fault. It was cool as hell and functional with my friend's Storm, but not my Storm 2. Buy it and you will love it, but no case or you have to take it out every time you place it on the charger.

Got what I expected: Rating: 4/5
As others have already covered this does not come with a power cord, only the actual docking station. I assume that is why it is so reasonably priced. Does exactly what I expected after reading the reviews and product description.

Does not support Storm 2 - 9550: Rating: 1/5
This device as others have noted does not fit the Storm 2 - 9550, and Amazon should quickly fix the merchandise materials to reflect this as other Storm 2 buyers will all have to go through the same fate of buying and returning this device.

Misleading: Rating: 1/5
This is not designed for the Storm 2! Even though the original Storm and the Storm 2 look alike, they do differ in size in shape just enough to keep my BBS2 from seating in the base correctly.

Does Not Fit Storm 2: Rating: 2/5
I just received the sync pod, but cannot use it. The unit looks good and has a nice weight, but the Storm 2 will not seat on the charge plug. You have to press the Storm 2 quite firmly to get the charger to start (as evidenced by the clock showing on the screen). Once you release the pressure on the phone, it springs up, off the plug and charging stops. RIM's website states that the dimensions are the same for the Storm 2 and the Storm, but my phone won't work on the charge/sync pod.
I will be returning it for a refund. It is too bad - the concept is a good one. RIM needs to revise the dimensions of the sync pod so that the Storm 2 will fit. |
