It's just an ok lightsaber...: Rating: 2/5
I bought this lightsaber to gut it and rip out the sound card. For it's value, the newer Hasbro lightsabers (the thinner ones that come with the DVD) are actually MUCH MUCH better. This particular lightsaber does the following:
LEDs flash / blink when clashing. There is only one swing/clash sensor and I think the board just alternates between the sounds. The small additional lightsaber simply turns on and lights up, but does not have sound.
All in all, there are better (and actually cheaper) lightsabers out there - the newer ones cost around $20-25. Plus you get a 15 minute DVD along with them. Save your money for those. The boxes for those look like this: Star Wars Electronic Lightsaber - Obi-Wan Star Wars Electronic Lightsaber - Darth Vader |

Disappointed: Rating: 2/5
My son had wanted this duel action lightsaber because of the double ended blade. One blade is normal sized like the other Star Wars lightsabers sold. However, the other blade is so small it looks like it was made for Yoda. The smaller blade lights up so faintly that we could not see that it was lit unless we turned off the lights. Also when you attach the smaller blade into the handle so that the lightsaber is "double bladed", the feeble light will not stay on. It seems that it was poorly designed so that upon inserting the smaller blade into position, the button is turned off within. This toy is overpriced and not worth the money.

Blue Light Saber: Rating: 3/5
This is what my 11-year-old grandson, and his younger brother, wanted, and they were delighted to open them on Christmas Eve. I thought they were a bit pricey, but a fun toy. I'm not sure how long they will last--just hope they don't poke each other's eyes with them.

Consider the EXCELLENT alternative we found: Rating: 1/5
After reading the many disappointing reviews of fragile toy light sabers, I found a WONDERFUL alternative (follow the link below to the Max Skillz Bo Staff Trainer). It's designed for safe and spirited fighting, is very durable and detaches to make two separate "swords". Of course it doesn't glow, hum or look exactly like the movie prop - but the two pair we've bought hold up under very enthusiastic use and my son has no problem imagining himself to be swinging a double light-saber. Buy two kits and you have one double-purple and one double-orange.
