HTML Editors

To launch your own web site you need to know HTML. However, there are free and commercial tools which will help you to start right away without HTML knowledge. We have listed a few tools to get started.

Nvu (pronounced N-view)
A complete Web Authoring System for Linux desktop users as well as Microsoft Windows and Macintosh users to rival programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver. Nvu (which stands for "new view") makes managing a web site a snap. Now anyone can create web pages and manage a website with no technical expertise or knowledge of HTML.

CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor
The CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor is a drag and drop HTML Editor with Built-in FTP uploading. It has wizards for tables, frames, forms and fonts and comes with all HTML 4.0 and XHTML tags. The Free version also includes wizards for images, links and a Quickstart so you can create web pages fast.

Trellian WebPage
Trellian WebPAGE is a free WYSIWYG web editor with a drag and drop interface, a preview screen that allows you to see your page under three common screen widths (640, 800 and 1024), table creation wizard, form creation tool and much more. It also includes a syntax highlighting HTML editor for people who want to switch to the HTML mode for some fine tuning.

Netscape Composer
Netscape Composer is an easy-to-use tool that makes creating HTML-based documents as easy as writing a memo with a word processor. HTML, or Hypertext Markup Language, describes how words and images should be displayed on a web page or in an email message. Like a word processor, Composer uses fonts, styles, paragraphs, and lists, and includes an integrated spelling checker.
